Stockport will hold its first ever Pride festival July 30th with a special tribute to Martyn Hett at the heart of the LGBT celebration. The event will take over the Market Place and Market Hall on Sunday, July 30 with food and drink, music and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. The main stage on Castle Yard will be named the Martyn Hett stage in honour of the 29-year-old, from Heaton Moor, who was one of the 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena attack on May 22. Drag act Misty Lee, former X Factor contestants Jordan Devine and Ryan Wilkins, vocalists Jane Relph and Ewan Sim, and Stockports own Silver Band are among the acts confirmed to perform on the day. Market Place venue Seven Miles Out will also host a line-up of local performers and there will be stalls from organisations including the LGBT Foundation, Lifeline, Stockport Mind and AgeUK Stockport offering information and support.
